Nana was Gorō Mutsumi's neighbor in the past. Gorō got a dog and named her after his neighbor who was friendly towards him. Nana would help Gorō take his dog for a walk everyday.
One day, Gorō was moving into a new apartment and couldn't keep his dog. His new apartment didn't allow pets. Gorō couldn't ask his parents to keep Nana because they were busy with the inn they owned. Nana heard about Gorō's problem and offered to take his dog. Gorō agreed and gave his dog to Nana.
